Although organised by RoR, everyone is welcome with whatever breed of horse or pony to come listen to Simon Curtis FWCF,HonAssoc RCVS, BSc(Hons) who will be giving a talk on horses hooves and then plenty of time for question and answer session. If you don't know Simon, then Simon is a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Farriers (2001-2002). He is a Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Farriers by examination. Simon has been a farrier since 1972. He has lectured and demonstrated farriery in 19 countries on five continents including the USA, Australia, India, Russia, South Africa and Dubai. He has published three textbooks on farriery, as well as contributing numerous papers to professional journals. He is the first and only farrier to be made an Honorary Associate of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, the highest honour possible for the College to award to anyone who is not a veterinary surgeon. In 2005 Simon was inducted into the International Farriers Hall of Fame at the Kentucky Derby Museum. He is also an Honorary Farrier with Racing Victoria. He is currently Chairman of the Farriers' Registration Council.

It is taking place on Wednesday 6th May at Newmarket Equine Hospital, Cambridge Road, Newmarket, Suffolk CB8 0FG at 6.40pm for light refreshments and to be seated at 7pm. Although there is no charge for this, we do expect everyone to at least put a couple of pounds donation into the RoR charity bucket at the door on the night please to cover the evenings costs. If you would like to come, then you do need to book your seats - this is a MUST so we know how many for refreshments. Please email colleensalmon@btinternet.com if you would like to reserve however many seats for this talk. No seat is reserved unless you have had an acknowledgement from me.
