Schedule looks fantastic, as always. We are really looking forward to the show. I've just had a look through the schedule which arrived yesterday. I was slightly worried by the location of the new Demo ring, which will be hosting several driving demonstrations amongst other things throughout the day. It is right next to the Heathfields Farm ring. I would be worried about taking my novice pony into a ring with carriage driving or scurry driving taking place next door. I know there is a walkway between the two, and they have to get used to these things for county shows etc, but a lot of competitors who come to Equifest are more used to local shows and might find this challenging. I do think a demo ring is a brilliant idea, and understand the need for it to be central on the showground.

There was a post on the Equifest FB page about this. copied from there ...
"It is not a motorbike display but mountain bikes which are in the horse free area well away from any horses. the demo ring will have some noisier demos but are mostly at the end of the day when the other classes are finishing. The carriage driving will not be noisy and will consist of 1-2 turnouts only. The scurry driving is at the end of the day to minimise the amount of ponies they need to pass and they will be escorted to the ring. There will only be one hackney for the demo and that will be stabled by the demo ring so should not upset any other horses. We will be putting a small grandstand up between the demo and Heathfield ring which will block out a lot of the space between the rings and create a barrier. we have carefully considered the type and timing of all the demos to minimise any risk and to try to ensure that there are no accidents. "
Personally ... I know how much our old pony freaked out when he saw a carriage for the first time at a County show - so be careful!

Isn't there parade of hounds as well at some point , our Shetland will find that rather exciting if there is . Might get a decent gallop though haha
