Hi can anyone recommend somewhere reasonable to get a childs showing shirt with holes for the collar stud in? I used to get them from ponies on parade but can't seem to track them down.
Thanks

Thanks You can make a hole in the collar with a thick sharp needle, no need to buy one pre made. It works fine for us and the cotton hasn't frayed. Cheapest show shirts are usually school shirts with long sleeves providing you buy them with the right collar size. We use white or blue so that's great the yellows aren't so good for the ring.

We used to spend so much money on show shirts, now we go asda buy a 3 pack and put my own collar pin holes in no one can tell the difference apart from me who saves a lot of money from it x

Thanks. I am using a white school shirt at the moment, very cheap pack of three. I tried and failed with making the holes, will try again. I wanted a cream shirt ideally.

IMO school shirts are not neat enough in the collar shape and length of points when they have a tie on - you are better to look on some websites and / or ask friends for outgrown proper showing shirts if you don't want to buy them new! Maybe I am extra picky, but it is just those little things that make the difference between looking really smart and looking a bit amateur !! edited to add - try a very small leather hole punch to make collar holes - but the holes do need to be very small if you really want them at all? !!

Hi Dog and Bone As a buyer of 'proper' show shirts for donkey's years, I am now a convert to M&S men's shirts 2" longer for my tall teenage grandson as non of the 'proper, e.g. Mrs Candy shirts, in the right collar size fit him in the arms. Good quality school shirts that come in collar sizes, not just small, medium and large can be very good if they fit the child properly. No shirt 'proper' or not will look good if it doesn't fit really well. There are still lots of people out showing that like to have the collar pins, down to personal preference, however, the pin will spoil the look if the shirt doesn't fit properly.

Yes kateanne - all down to personal preference, which is why I started with 'IMO" !!! I am sure mens shirts for a tall teenagers are brilliant, but sadly this doesn't always work for small children! It is all down to the fit - hence my point that the majority of school shirts DON'T fit well enough IMO !!!
