Can someone advise best class for new horse to showing,placed at local level but not county,is novice and amateur best or is amateur more advanced,horse does let ridden hunter and working hunter,not sure any advise would be great and class sizes thanks

Def the novice classes, though there can be pros in those with novice horses, so look at restricted as well as they are for horses who haven't qualified/been to HOYS/RIHS
Amateur hunters can be quite strong and there are professionally produced amateurs contesting these classes. LWTs were of a reasonable size last year - there may well be someone with a catalogue still. I have a MWT and recall the Amateur LWT and Equifest LWT classes being a good 15-20 horses if not more
