I use mine all the time! if set up right they are great for balancing up. most beneficial when used in trot.. they are fixed like side reins so encourage a natural outline. I usually lunge once/twice a week using it...

i think that like any piece of equipment they are only as good as the person who is using them, the mildest snaffle can be damaging in the wrong hands

i sold mine on. it sawed on my horses mouth every time he took a stride. i tried adjusting it , all sorts of different ways and the same result every time. I much prefer the KAVALKADE HO lunge aid.

I have the john Whittaker one (prob much like the others) and use it once a week for ground work.
My hunter is lazy and it's really encouraged him to use his back end and think about his feet. It's helped with engagement and reinforced the schooling work we do
As above. Over use or in the wrong hands could be detrimental but used correctly will help

I like using the Pessoa on my mare, really encourages her forward. She's had a number of problems with back, bum and legs, therefore when I first started using this she worked lovely with no resistance. However the problems which occurred made her really tense now when I put her in it, instead I just work her with some side reins then swap over to Pessoa when she's all calm. Find it works for some horses and not for others, just depends whether yours coils up and comes back at you.. Or other whether they'd freak at the though of something touching their bum! X
