I've recently bought a yearling sport horse filly, wanting to take her to a couple of shows Inhand before taking her to the young horse championships at Osberton horse trials at the end of the season. I have never shown inhand before and need help with what to wear and how I need to present my filly.
I have been looking at inhand bridles and but all the ones I've seen have cheekpieces for a bit? As my filly has not been bitter yet do I need to look for a different type of bridle?? Also I know she is to be shown plaited but do I need quarter markers etc?
As for myself I was thinking beige trousers( as she has dark legs) worn inside my dubarrys, with a canary shirt, tweed waistcoat and flat cap? Is this a suitable outfit?
Thanks in advance. If anyone would like to post pictures of their Youngstock inhand it would be very helpful

If your showing in SH classes some shows although not many insist in showing in whites. Most shows are hunter turnout, inhand trousers dark camel or brown, the fashionable red trousers are horrendous, worn over boots with a good sole for running and grip. Tweed jacket and a Patey hat.
Yearlings are normally bitted in a nylon bit and a plain in handbridle for SH classes.
Quarter markings, plaited tails are correct for yearlings but at county level you will find some have pulled tails.
Learn how to stand her up so judge can see all four limbs so stood staggered rather than square and a good trot out. Practice round the triangle at home.
Good Luck
