I have a 10 year old JR bit*h that I bred (no other dogs at present) She has always been fed on dry dog food and scraps. She went off Bakers 4 or 5 years ago, so I have used better quality dry dog foods, i.e. James Wellbeloved or Wainwright's. She went off those a couple of years ago, but eats them eventually. She eats human food or trays of any brand with enthusiasm. I have just tried tails.com which is a mail order bespoke dog food. She ate a small amount of that mixed in with her usual food, then the second day I gave her slightly more and it made her sick. Now she won't eat that. She weighs about 7.6kg, and I would say she is between just right to slightly over in weight, the vet said she was fine, not overweight when she saw her a couple of months ago. I always thought tinned/pate dog food was bad for their teeth, and she has had teeth problems recently. She had lots of matted hair rammed round her back teeth when she went for her booster a few months ago, so she went into have the hair removed, her teeth cleaned and a tooth removed. I thought she may eat dry dog food better after this, but it made no difference at all.
Would you persevere with dry dog food or just give her scraps and trays and not worry about her teeth?

The new puppy we got off some breeders (her parents were working dogs) had fed her porridge, scrambled egg, chicken to wean her off her mum and she prefers that to dog food...

Thanks for your replies, she sometimes eats the dry dog food in the morning, and if she leaves any it gets mixed in with a tray or scraps at night. She looks healthy and has loads of energy, so she must be getting what she needs
