I have a highland Mare, that consistently shouts at shows, and has quite a nap in her, drifting towards line up, and not going forward into her bridle! My biggest issue is the constant shouting, and chattering to all that want to hear, she looses all concentration, and outline! Yes I have spent hours schooling, this is not a schooling issue, this is behaviour, she was particularly bad, when in a Hoys class, surrounded by Stallions, who despite her yelling, they didn't take a blind bit of notice! What mare supplements can I use at top level showing! I have had this mare two seasons now, and can no longer make excuses for her bad behaviour!

If she's a good enough mare to do HOYS classes I'd look into marbles which would stop her coming into season. I'm not particularly up on it but worth asking your vet about.

We had a show pony that was errrrr moody to say the least, after trying a few supplements which did work I started reading up on the contents mainly because her being on it was costing us a blooming fortune! The common ingredient in all of them is Agnus Castus or the berry from the Agnus Castus plant which is the Chasteberry. So we now buy just that in powder form for equines and its brilliant, it levels out the hormone levels naturally. Since.... i've given it to a gelding who still thought he was a stallion, and again a lot happier, calmer and co-operative. It really does work, but by cutting out the brand name of Oestress or Moody Mare costs a fraction of the price
Highly recommend it x
