i will - as its something i feel passionate about..... I didnt say you bought from a puppy farm.... i am saying breeding crosses - why? whats the point??? did she health test your cross?? and a c0ckerpoo isnt a breed - its a crossbreed with a name to get them sold!.... INSURANCE..... makes no odds on vets fees - premiums are lesss because crosses a re worth less!!! not because insurance companies dont pay out as much!!!! i would hate to think what you paid for your crossbreed with i assume no health tests either!!!! we are never going to agree but as for the OP'S opening statement i could not sit back and watch people being educated wrongly purely for money making reasons as if you take everything into consideration of what i have said then read the op's statement and tell me hes breeding out o flove................. thought not... ;-)
money..... give them a stupid name with oodle on the end and put 'rare' in frount - some pleb who is uneducated will fall for that!!!

nic101 just because you feel passionately about something does not make you right!! It is very patronising of you to assume that people cannot make up their own mind regarding which dog is right for them and just because it is KC reg and an "official" breed obviously does not make it healthier regardless of what health checks have been made on parents. The biggest problem with pure bred dogs is the inherited problems from "breeding to type" and in breeding which is obviously not a problem with selective cross breeding. I work in a veterinary practice and by far the most congenital diseases are found in pure breds and I would say without exception all the outstanding OAP's are crossbred. It is also significant that number of bit*hes aditted for Pyometra surgery are pure bred as the owners will have kept them entire as they may want to breed from them eventually - WHY? This is rarely a problem with owners of crossbreds who have selected their pet responsibly and had them neutered appropriately.
It is also worth noting that the BBC will no longer televise Crufts due to the adverse publicity of serious congenital problems in pure bred dogs

i was getting at the fact that its rediculous people thinking a c0ocker poo is a breed and other dogs with stupid names!
KC is a different thing altogether - that was part of a very big discussion i used
i was rather angry with the lack of common sense on this thread and the OP's very flippant comment and suggestion about making a quick buck at his dogs expense

I see what you mean but sadly a lot of people are making a quick buck at their dogs expense and unfortunatley it is more often the owners of pure breds who do not realise there is good and bad in every breed so will breed from an inferior bit*h just because it has a pedigree. In fact these inferior bit*hes should obviously be spayed(or not bred in the first place preferably) but if they are to be bred from maybe a bit of Hybrid vigour would help(as in horse pony breeding where say a 2nd rate tb mare would breed crap pure breds but fab hunters crossed with an ID)

Maybe you don't either - you can't always be right! what dont you get about this: crossbreeding - gawd knows what you end up with - they arnt worth anything money wise.....and they are just bred to generally get a quick buck??? if people really cared about their crossbreeds they wouldnt breed.... leave it to those who health test their purebred dogs and their dogs have proved themselves whether it be working or show and are a good example of their BREED!!!! and those who have purebreds who breed dont do it for the money - they breed because they have a cracking example of their breed there will never ever be a cracking example of a crossbreed to breed as there is no breed standard for crosses!!! whats not to 'get about that'

I have owned one too but now have a (spayed) standard poodle which I could have made a packet on had I bred X breds or pure but I chose not to. But I would not diss the numpties who bred my xbred as she was my dog of a lifetime, but on principle I do agree that there is too much overbreeding but not just the crossbreds which to most people are just as valuable as purebreds as they are a "family member" not just an animal. I think in a roundabout way we are on the same side here but with the exception that I think a x bred is as worthwhile as a pure bred. ie why is a litter being bred whether pure OR cross bred as to be honest most pure breds are not bred for the "furthering of the breed"

Having read your last post no we obviously don't agree - will have to agree to differ. Why should it be a cracking example of a breed if it is a much loved family member and going to be neutered anyway? And no pure breds are not all bred from health checked parents with thought out pedigrees they are bred from someones pedigree pet which they paid a few hundred quid for, haven't any idea whether it is a good one or a bad one and think they can double/treble quadruple their money!

Well i have a schnoodle and i wouldnt ever have any other dog! The temprement is excellent, shes cute, loves evryone and doesnt mault! I am trying to find another 1 and yes they are hard to come by! I have rescued dogs all my life whilst living with parents and its such a different experience having one from a pup. I hear what everyone is saying about rescue centres but we can't help everyone, every dog. I donate some of my time to the rspca so i feel i do my bit. 4 rescued dogs, that i no longer have, and a few hours a week at the rspca. It peoples choice what they do with their time, money, efforts and what sort of dog they buy! So al you people having a moan get up go out and dont sit on here moaning about what other peoples dog chpices are!

I don't think people are particularly on here to "moan", but rather to share and discuss opinions, afterall it is a discussion forum and thank goodness we have different ones, otherwise it would be a rather dull world.

Unfortunately on this thread some people got a bit overheated and were dismissing other people's opinion as "wrong" because it was different from theirs. Yes it's good to have varying opinions but I'm sure you'll agree it's also good to have an open mind and accept others opinion as well. There's no need to call people "numpties" etc for a differing opinion, that is just downright rude!
