Can someone tell me what are the rules in hoys l/r qualifiers are the jockeys allowed to hold onto the front of the saddle ?

Yes that would be fine, but the majority have a little handle across the D rings

As has been said, the only Society that does not allow a handle/strap is WPCS!!!! Hopefully they will be addressing this.

Ok thankyou so do the wpcs allow them to hd front of saddle a d have knots I'm presuming the royal Welsh will be under wpcs

I had a judge question knots in reins at our area association WPCS show last year, but not against the rules. They checked & we went on to win, so wasn't held against us x

The WPCS do not mention anything about knots or holding the front of the saddle.

Think bsps have a rule that reins must not be knotted or stitched

You are allowed knots in reins but they must not be knotted or stitched into short loops. You are allowed to place small knots in to stop little hands slipping.
