If you've got a TB or know someone with a TB, please tell them about the Thoroughbred Show taking place on August Bank Holiday Saturday as part of the Fenland Country 3 Day Fair, being held at Stow Cum Quy, nr Cambridge (15 minutes from Newmarket).
This show is being held for charity and all money raised will be going to various charities (the TB show will be specifically raising funds for Cancer related charities).
All TBs are welcome - whether raced or not but you must have a registered Weatherbys passport.
There are classes for raced and unraced - and from Youngstock through to Veterans - all are welcome.
There is a trophy to keep for every class winner, plus 2 Champions and Reserves, and a Supreme Champion and Reserve. Additional rosettes during the day for Best Grey, Horse with the Highest Official Rating, Horse that Ran the Most Times, and such like.
There are in-hand, ridden and working hunter classes. This show is PRE-ENTRY only and entries MUST be received by 20th August in order to get passes sent out.
Please pass the word on to anyone you think would like to show their TB - we need more entries to raise more money. Flat raced class is very poorly supported at present and also Working Hunter classes need more entries too.
We have a top Panel Judge who knows her TBs - so everyone will be fairly looked at. Judge will not ride and horses will not be stripped off in the ridden classes.
Class numbers are strictly limited for safety and time reasons. We do already have entries from around the country and if anyone would like overnight stabling, this can be arranged close by to the showground.
The show is a very popular show (similar to large agricultural/county show) but the horse ring is kept as far away as possible from noisy attractions.
A very popular show last year and we hope we can better it again this year. Please contact me if you want more details but please - do let everyone with a TB know about it.Fenland Country Fair. 2015 schedule.docx (70.99 KB)
