seems wrong to me ,and I don't exibit ,that a person can judge one day and exhibit the next. presumably the hospitality for the judges means that exhibitors and judges mix together !!!!! to the layman that doesn't look good. especially at a prestiges show like rihs

All that can be asked is that the exhibits on the day are judged with integrity. As long there are no contraventions of the rules of the particular show being attended, it has to be accepted and expected that this will happen. Many people, myself included, knows or has met a judge socially that may be called upon to judge our exhibits. As the saying goes, it's a small world.

It could potentially result in a loss of income for the producer and a very quiet half a season.

not saying judges cant show and exhibit as u say most people in showing know each other ,but doesn't look good at the same show ,think some societys have this rule. if you produce and show surely your clients come first, as the saying goes u cant do everything.

What baffles me is how a horse that is 'unable to trot up in hand' due to having a 'fifth' leg, so to speak, and bucks and humps against trotting, is allowed to try again and still wins a show class??? Yet another who has a fly buzzing around it, and doesn't stand still for a couple of minutes is dropped!
