My mum was there yesterday with our Dogue de bordeaux. It was the first time for this breed at crufts so was a very special day for my mum ;D there was 22 in her class & although she didnt get placed she did get pulled in to the last 8 ;D & was pleased Nemo was a good boy ;D ;D ;D Her friend, with the same breed, got 3rd in a class of 32 ;D

Funny how we all think differently. I loved the Sealyham from the moment it first entered the ring. Watched it through the group and thought what a splendid example of the breed it was.
Delighted to see it come out on top. I would have preferred the Pharaoh in as reserve. The judge however obviously didn't agree with me lol!

TO judge at crufts you have to give tickets across multiple breeds of different groups. you have to have judges av groups and best in shows for years. The criteria for dogs is not like horses, I am a judge myself and sit on a national committee. You can not be invited to give tickets unless you have shown and owned a champion and judged (hands on) 250 dogs of that breed over a large geographical area, spent 7 years in that breed and done lots of stewarding, courses on confirmation, movement and specific breed seminars and are invited byt he breed club to join the lists. Of course it can still be "facey" but its not one bit like horses where your gran can end up doing the championship!!!!
