Depends which way round. If it's an A stallion on a D mare yes but not the other way. I bought an A mare in foal to a D stallion and fortunately we were there to pull the foal out or I'd have lost both!!

Some years ago I was given an A who had spent her breeding life breeding Cs by a D - but it was a small neat D. She always foaled fine including the last one which was born with me, and she subsequently had a lovely A filly for me. One reason for her moving to me was that her previous owner was changing D stallions to a bigger, solider one and wouldn't use that one on her.

We have had 2 A mare's foal to D stallions with no problems at all and produced 2 stunning pony type C's however both mares had previously foaled before so that may have made a difference

My mare is an a mare x d stallion she is small but beautiful. It wasn't the mare first though.
