I have a welsh part bred who is looking quite poor going into winter. She's just come off loan, and I'm keen to get some weight on her. She won't be in a lot of work as she's had a busy season and I'm wanting to give her some time off.
I don't want her fat, she's hard to get weight on as she's quite stressy and can be fussy with her food. She's on good quality haylage and in wanting to give her some hard feed, any advice would be appreciated. Have been given so many different opinions!

I'd go for a suitable balancer and something like soaked unmolassed sugarbeet with an oil source like micronised linseed or Equi-jewel. I prefer to avoid starch and sugar so no cereals fed here.

Nothing, she's out at grass. Her weight has picked up since being on some decent grass if I'm being honest x

Unfortunately I'm on a livery yard and they're coming in at weekend so will have no access to grass. I know fibre is the best thing to give them, but there are so many fibre feeds it's baffling

Thats a shame as Dr Green is usually the best remedy.

Ready grass helps to put weight on with a good feed balancer. I like Top Spec and we are getting good results with a TB that was just out of race training
