My rising 3 yr old is very good in lots of ways , but gets really bad tempered if he's irritated , IE putting rugs on or brushing or even feeding and moving him over . Most of the time hes very loving comes to call 'follows you like a dog, ect but ..... on occasion he becomes a land shark ,followed by a very good footballer and kicks for England .You have to be on your toes all the times , that said he's an angel to long rein and train walking out in traffic , roller on ect .I won't sell him but really need him to become more level headed any suggestions or tips please .He's turned out everyday and full time summer, not hungry well handled just bloody piggy .

Try putting him on Agnus Castus, our boy was cut late and a bit laddish or hormonal and its really levelled him out. Its cheap to buy compared to the branded calmer types, we get it from ebay for about £10 and it lasts 6 weeks, its a natural hormone balancer but really works on geldings/mares and stallions that need the edge taking off them
Highly recommend it

Being old and old school I assumed you meant how to handle/train him to behave like a gent. Basically he needs consistency and zero tolerance for bad behaviour, lots of praise for doing the right thing and very quick reactions from you in both praising and scolding. You are aiming to be his herd leader, so that he treats you with trust and respect.

Thank you to both m&p and sarah p Yes i do mean old fashion manners , I've raised lots of babies and all have gone on to do well . but this guy just won't settle , like I said brilliant when got something to think about , but if pushed to far or niggled will become naughty , won't think twice at coming back at you , so just can't let your guard down , hoping when ridden back end of next year he will settle , I was thinking of sending to a good in hand producer for next season or do I give him 12 months in the field , he's very special and I wan't whats best for him , not to proud to say there's always one that beats you , will look up Agnus Castus now and send for some
