Sad to hear Amy took a bad tumble last week and is hospital with a broken back. No damage to her spine , but still , to someone so active , it will be very debilitating. I would like to send her my best wishes , I dont know her to speak to , but she was very kind to my daughter at Hoys one year , helping to wash our fells feathers before his class. So to Amy and her family who I imagine are all very upset , Please get well soon , take the advice of the doctors and I look forward to seeing you back on your feet very soon xxxx

Yes,get well soon indeed.
It's another reminder how dangerous this sport can be sometimes....my own daughter also had a bad fall last Tuesday after her Connemara was startled near a hedge by the arena, swung round and shot forward, rider off the side!
A 999 call for ambulance and an hour later ended up in hospital and on crutches but thankfully back on her feet again, after a fashion, now.
As a non rider, this scares the life out of me at times ....it must dent the rider's confidence at times surely when this happens? Or does it affect the dads more than the daughters?

Oh so sorry to hear Amy, you were very kind recently and I spoke to you at length regarding a pony I was potentially viewing to purchase for my daugher. I was touched by your kindness ad honesty and even sent me some pix...not a lot of people would do that I still do thank you for that. Sending very best wishes for a speedy recovery, keep smiling xxx

I don't know Amy at all, but my heart goes out to her and her family. Having had a very nasty fall last year myself, I know just how upsetting it is for not just the rider but to everyone else concerned. My trainer was with me when I had my fall and it left her very traumatised too, not to mention the other people who were around at the time and most of all my poor husband who, despite not being 'horsey' per se, just got on with looking after my two boys all by himself, as I was in hospital for two weeks and out of action for a further 6 months.
I wish Amy and her family well and hope she makes a full and speedy recovery and is back on her beloved horses soon.
