Does anyone have a trainer. who only publishes public good scores for her clients, i.e. mainly if you come first place when competing. I find this terribly annoying as the internet as we know reveals all scores from your entry. and everyone can see this so what's the big cover up, I feel intimidated by this its like she is embarrassed by your placing!!

This reads like you are meaning someone specific.
Come on seriously, like you say it's quite easy to find all results via the Internet so why are you worrying yourself over this little matter??

Philippa Of course I am meaning someone specific. Have you had this happen at anytime to yourself, I thought the guest posting area was for guests to ask others thoughts experiences. And I don't think it a little matter that is why I am asking others thoughts what they think.

Personally no I've not had this happen to me as I don't have a 'trainer-producer'!!!!! I don't see what you are expecting people to say to you though as you've answered your own question regarding seeing all results on the Internet anyway. I'm also not sure why you should feel intimidated because minor placing so/results aren't posted??? If it bothers you so much then post your own results.

By 'publishes', I presume you mean posts on facebook?
If so, it's her facebook page on which she can post what she wants. Some people use fb as a running commentary of their lives, others don't. It's also up to her clients if they wish for their results to be posted by her. Yes, results are often available online but with regards to putting them on facebook, the trainer has to respect a professional relationship with clients.
Take a show producer as an example; their client attends local shows to build confidence and get to know their horse better in the ring. The next week they qualify for hoys and the producer posts their congratulations on facebook. Does this mean that they weren't proud of their client's results at the local show or that the only thing that matters is hoys? Of course not. It's just that they choose not to put absolutely everything on facebook.

its a free world ,,, you can post your results the same as anyone else ,,,,, but actually what it boils down to at the end of the day is PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT ,,,, it doesnt matter if you win or come down the line if you are pleased with your progression , and your result then post it ,,,,, we all have to start somewhere,, and if you dont strive to better yourself then you may have to question why you do it ,,, but dont diss someone for doing well and posting it because it doesnt suit you

Maybe said producer has lots of horses on the yard and competes a lot throughout the season. Surely it is not feasible or practical or even remotely interesting to list hundreds of lower placings or non placings! So they simply list just there top placings or results they are incredibly proud of. Very sensible!

What I am trying to say is. I have noticed that the trainer in question only likes to publish top placing's public, and this annoys me as everyone can see the results via the internet if they wanted to look them up. Could she be embarrassed of ones results and the venue where they were gained, ?? I am thinking so.

Well we don't know the answer to that because we don't know who the trainer is, where the venue is or what the results are!!!!
Also, most people only post about the red ones regardless of who they are or where they went.....

Sometimes you need to step something down a bit if there is a problem that needs ironing out so no, you wouldn't particularly publish those results, if it bothers you so much then contact the person in question and ask them directly, then maybe when you've got the answer you might share it with us on here. Thanks

I wrote a post to go on here which has disappeared - doubtless something I did wrong!
Surely anyone who wants to publicise their business or stud will preferentially put up the good results and not bother about others. Those would be easy to look up if required, as has been said, and it would lead to a long and boring read if everything was put up! There is no need whatsoever to be embarrassed about any lower placings - there are 1001 perfectly valid reasons for these from novice ponies and riders needing the experience to ponies refusing to eat when sleeping away from home, and many others in between.

I'm confused? SERIOUSLY, I'd love to help but I am a bit confused..............are you upset because only the results from the more prestigious classes/venues are being posted and the results from the 'not as ' prestigious, perhaps local level classes/venues aren't? OR
is it because not just the winners - you think that all results should be posted irrespective of what and where down the line they stood?

If it's your own trainer or producer you're talking about, and your results and achievements, surely you'd be better talking to them? If it's not then what does it matter? I don't expect my producer to announce all my horse's progress to the world. It's her livelihood and her professional reputation she's making public. Writing "Silvo's horse is a pain in the neck, has gone like a bag of spanners and some days would be better off as glue!" would be accurate but it wouldn't do anything for her reputation! I'm far more interested in her discussing progress with me and if there's something to be proud of and show off about then great but that's not why I employ her. If you don't feel you're getting the service or support you're looking for then perhaps it's time to find another trainer or producer.
