Hi, I have a pony who has lost a chunk of mane towards the wither end of his neck. I have taken the neck covers off and I am looking for advice for a brand of rug where the neck sits as near to the wither as possible so I can allow the mane to recover. Lots of them seem to sit a long way forward. Thanks in advance.

I find the masta rugs fit quite far back but that's on a section A. I personally use premier equine rugs on all mine. I've not lost any manes with them yet - touch wood!!

Forgot to say I use the fixed neck ones mainly as they don't have that definate wither/shoulder line so don't tend to dig in as much.

I have been using one with a fixed neck with no join but over the last couple of weeks the chunk of mane is fast disappearing!! I saw some premier equine's advertised with no necks but there are no pics of the neck line. Do you know how far up the neck these come. He is quite a chunky type as well. Didn't know whether the snuffy hoods jams would be better as an under layer then keep the lightweight one on the top but again on the pics it is hard to tell how far up his neck these will sit.

Premier equines are quite high fitting on ponies with a good front.
