Having problems with our little 12.2 16 years pony we bought him on good faith that he was suitable for my 9yearvold daughter who can ride but is nervous and needs a confidence giver!! To do all PC activities, he has got her off loads ..She has been dumped 5 times in 1wk having only fallen off once her old pony! I have had ponys all my life and know he is settled and fine in his sabble and field etc and she can just be trotting around nicely when he drops a shoulder buts a buck in and she's on the floor I put a older girl on him and she was cantering around a course and he did it again? And dumped her aswell. Do I have a leg to stand on ? I carnt believe people do this its Childrens life's they are dicing with not an adult!! Please help ??

Depends how long you have had it, what the advert stated, did you buy private or from a dealer?

I would not have ridden the pony so quickly. You really haven't given him time to settle in to new surroundings. He is an old pony who will be used to his previous surroundings and rider(s). Plus you say your daughter is nervous , how much of this has the pony sensed?

That's not nearly enough time for the pony to settle in even if it seems like he has . A nervous jockey then getting on will not help either . Also make sure there is no pain issues like the saddle pinching him , bit he isn't happy in etc . What are you feeding him ?

How did the pony behave when your child rode him when you went to try him ?

Try an older jockey and see if it does it with them.
Depends what the advert said but I think legally if it's a private sale you are bound by buyer beware but maybe seller will have some conscience esp when a child is involved

well I do agree that some ponies take time to settle in , however if you are sending hime back it would be better sooner than later, and reading your post it seems that the pony dumped other riders too, therefore I would send it back.
