Hi guys. Got a foal who's section D X sports horse (mum is a hanoverian X thoroughbred). The sire is a full up 14.3hh section D and mum is full up 16.2.
The foal is 11months and currently 13.1ish, how big do you think he will make? From your experience

There is a rule of thumb based on measuring the legs - is it elbow to ergot and double it to find mature height? I tend to look at the height of the knees compared with those of the dam to give a rough idea.
I bred two full siblings from a 14.1hh D mare by a 16hh AES stallion - one was 16hh and the other 14.2hh, but I can't remember how big they were at what age. The big one was her first foal, and it was obvious from birth that the second one would be much smaller.
