Hello,
I have a 15hh that can jump super (when she puts her mind to it!). I am wanting to try either an RI/HOYS qualifier even just to see how she compares, however she is 16 and no height certificate so can't join BSPS. Is there either any societies I can join without a certificate or can I do a qualifier without being a member?
Sorry if it is a stupid question, get super confused with all the rules!
Thank you!

You have to be a member of either BSPS, NPS, PUK or TSR to enter a HOYS 153 WHP class or just BSPS to enter an RIHS qualifier. For either you need a JMB height certificate

Oh well!

Why don't you enter some ordinary Open 153 WHP classes? You can do this without memberships etc & this would give you an idea of whether your pony was suitable.
The RIHS & HOYS courses may be longer (12 fences inc a combination(s) & can be slightly bigger & are usually more challenging in terms of technicality, obstacles etc, but the manner of judging the classes is the same, so you would have an indication of what was expected from you & your pony.
It would be quite unusual for animals who have never competed in these type of classes before, to jump straight in at this level, if you'll pardon the pun!

Yes, i wouldn't just enter her straight off in the qualifiers but would have liked a go I've been doing novices (jumped round Cheshire county super for 7th/25 with a fence down!) it's also so difficult because quite a few of the shows we go to the opens are the qualifiers so can't enter them, I'm sure I'll find something ?
