We showed our old boy in heartbars as it was the only way to keep the lami at bay, never had a problem with any judges.

I know under BSPS rules any shoe that covers the Heels/Frogs arent allowed.

No one ever noticed that my horse was shown in them for several years including BSPS classes!

you will have a problem if you have a good pony that wins we went to a small area show last year with our old dartmoor who is a genuine childs pony just wanted to get my friends daughter going in first ridden as she was very nervous, they won the FYFR and when they went back in to do the FR the class was stopped and she was thrown out of the class as another competitor had seen the shoes and complained to the show secretary the class was stopped whilst everyone had a disscusion and the child had her place took off her and put last however the judge was fab and told my friend she thought it was a disgrace, but rules have to be obeyed and that little girl was distraught. The people who complained were proffesional people and openly told everyone that the pony was wearing illegal shoes.

Does'nt that just show bad sportsmanship amongst competitors. Clearly if you have checked with the show secretary of the show entered into there should be no problem, yes rules are rules we all have to obide by them, but this situation could have been dealt with after the class with some dignity. My advice is to check before entering into a class.

I think it's because they are classed as an unnatural assistance to the pony's way of going, they would alter the natural movement.
