Since some of the most lovely working students of the past appear to have come through this page one way or another I thought I should post that we're having our next working student opening coming up April 1. Here are some photos of our farm, our working student program and what we do

Since we are a globally oriented sporthorse studfarm with adjacent veterinary practice the position would be suitable for veterinary students or students to be as well as for students of equine sciences, equestrian management, ERASMUS students or any other education where horse management, German language and/or veterinary skills are of interest.
As we have a number of horses and ponies in work right now ideally we would look for a rider who is good with youngsters and has a good foundation in dressage and/or jumping/eventing. You will get to stay in the most horsey area of Germany right in the centre of Hanoverian, Oldenburg and Westfalian country. Hence we attend a lot of events in the area (e.g. mareshows, performance tests, gradings) with a variety of opportunities to gain insight to the German equestrian scene.
While it is an internship/working student position and the incentive is to offer your working power against education there are a variety of perks incl. free admission to events, meals out being paid for as well as an option to use our farm car for private endeavors when it is not needed on the farm.
There is a neat little apartment with kitchenette and separate bathroom all to yourself and free WiFi available as well. If you're interested please email Kareen@germanhorseconnection.com with some video of your riding, cv and references if you have any. Will be happy to provide references from ex-working students for your information and reference
We're about one hour west of Hanover. Minimum duration of stay is 6 months. Shorter stays potentially available on request. You've got to be friendly and positive and in favor of being part of a motivated team. We have certified professional full time and parttime hired help so while you will be expected to help with the yard and foalings you won't be mucking stalls all day of be a working slave. Drivers license and personal insurance a must as we are in a very rural area so you will need wheels to get from a to b.
