Our cat used to be an outside cat and his residence was the tack room, until we moved house a year ago. Since then he has lived indoors with us. Which of course he thinks is great!!!!
He is a very vocal cat and always talks to you, but he has got into a habit on meowing very loud at 6.10 every morning when he comes in the cat flap. It doesn't bother me as I am normally thinking about getting up then, but husband is not amused as he wakes our daughter up.
He started doing it first when he came in and was a bit soggy from the rain, but now he does it regardless of being wet or not. I also thought that maybe he is a bit poor sighted and he was just checking that we were all there.
Has anyone else got the same problem or any suggestions as I have a feeling that he is going to be evicted at night if it carries on - but I can imagine he will just sit outside the cat flap doing it even louder if he is shut out!!!
Help please!!

One of our cats does that if he has no food left so we always make sure we put some out last thing at night and we tend to get a peaceful night's sleep.....unless I am sleeping on my side, in which case he comes up and paws my face to make me lie on my back!

I am having the same problem and am VERY tired. I have 3 little lovelies and "Bertie", the half siamese, who is only 1 year old, comes in at 5.30 and cries like a baby. He then gets on my bed and purrs around my face. If I dont get up and feed him, he then pounces on "pickle" and they start play fighting around the bedroom. If I still dont get up, he has 3 favourtie party tricks that he knows will get me up...
1. jump up at the picture on the wall and knock it off onto the sideboard making a loud CRASH 2. his personal favourite of getting in the bath and digging very loudly 3. bring a live bunny in and chase it around the bedroom
If I shut him out, her climbs up onto the window ledge outside my bedroom window and digs on the window or cries VERY LOUDLY!
All of these "cunning tricks" also wake up the two GSD's, who then start banging at the kitchen door, asking to be let out.
Once I let the dogs out, the horses then think its food time and start their own demands for my attention......
I really am being held to ransome, by all these animals! My husband and kids are also getting woken up and we are all a bit tired and grumpy!
There is always food left out for the cats, but fresh food is required at 5.30 am!

Lovepink my husband wouldn't be able to put up with all that in any shape or form. He doesn't do early mornings in any shape or form - I even kip downstairs in the summer when going to shows so that I don't wake him up when I have to get up at 4.00.
Cat hasn't been that bad the last 2 mornings, but I think that is because he has been outside and hasn't come in until 8.00 (thank god) although he was asleep at my feet last night at about 2.00 and I heard the cat flap rattle at about 5.00.
I'm just hoping that while the weather is nice he will stay out longer in the morning and not wake us all up.

I wonder if our cats have been using those clips as "training videos"?
They are brilliant!
