Hi;
I have chose of hay or Haylege bales on the yard we have had hay small bales which has not been very good!! I'm wondering what you prefer to feed And why

It depends on the quality of both on the needs of the horse! I prefer to feed haylage as it is dust free and the horses love it! However, haylage can be more expensive and does usually contain more energy than hay. I actually feed mine a mix of both at the moment going in to spring as haylage can also help with weight as a post to hay...in my opinion

Hay is better if lami might be an issues, but haylage is better if any dust allergy. Mixing can be a very good answer.
