Hi , we have successfully dug out the area (20 x 40 ) drains etc & stone down & 3 fences . Now decisions are to put a membrane in or not? I know a lot of people that have & its come up . If yes what sort to use & how to glue it down & prices please. Also some Advice on surfaces.. I was thinking silica sand from Bathgate with either rubber or fibre mixed in. Thanks

If using sand then a membrane is needed to stop the stones from coming to the surface.

Yes you will need a membrane.
Silica sand with rubber is a good combination for a surface. Whereabouts are you as I can recommend a company in Yorkshire

I had a membrane in mine. It was fine for 7 years but got flooded this winter and horses have gone through it. Its been hard work to get out and get rid of. Using it withoùt one now.

definately need a membrane ,,, as said above eventually the stones will work their way up ,,,, if your school gets a lot of use then you will at some stage need to top the surface up ,,, otherwise you will find that the membrane will at risk of getting holes in it
