Just wondered what sort of time scale people travel horses/ponys in trailers for? X

Usually as long as it takes from A - B!! We've travelled them in a trailer 5 - 6 hours before now if need be. No different to in a lorry TBH.

We take my pony to his usual shows in a trailer maximum 5 or 6 hours but when we go overseas I wouldn't dream of putting him in a trailer, it is so much easier for them to travel in a large lorry that is on air than a trailer as they have to work harder (if that makes sense)

I have travelled from Kent to Devon County in a trailer, it depends on how they are driven.

Stopping for one or more breaks on a long journey gives the horses a rest and the opportunity to offer water , particularly in hot weather . Ditto for driver !

Ok thanks, My boy goes out and about a fair bit, but id say our longest trip has been 2hrs. There is a show I'm planning on doing that's about 4hrs. Feel abit better now after seeing your comments x

I'm sure he will be fine if he's used to it. Good luck x
