The BSPA have yet again set the stable fees at Keysoe for the duration only which is £60.00. I wanted to take my cob for the saturday and my 3YO for the Sunday so would have to stay on saturday night and have two stables. This is impossible as it would cost me £120.00 for the stables and a further £15.00 for electric, totalling £135.00 by the time I added the entries and my diesel it would be over £200.00. No wonder the show isnt that well attended. I cant imagine what they will charge for the summer champs at Addington!

Try searching around for a yard that can do you stables off site. We quite often stay off site at shows, is generally cheaper and much quieter. Have very much gone off staying at showgrounds mainly because of the noise - generators and people! Am getting very grumpy in my old age.

Same here!!! The stables at Puk west midlands show are nearly 40 pounds for 1 night!!!! They are much less at Three counties so why the hike in price? ? We are staying off site for sure.

We will not be going this year and I am sure that if everyone boycotted the show due to outrageous fees they would soon reduce them.

Iv gone in to coloureds but wont be bothering with these shows to much of an expense and faff, plenty of other big shows to go to, they all cater for coloureds. Vote with your feet and boycotte it.

Yep, unfortunately I can Doultonsmum -
We're going up for the Royal Highland Show and they are £60 per stable for ONE night or £80 for the duration !!!! We need two stables for two nights, so have had to book 2 for the duration - £160 before we even put in the entries !!!
Entries were £36 a class x 3 classes - £108
Extra wristbands for the days we are not competing - £16 per wristband per day - £32
Subtotal of £300 Plus our fuel, eating and other expenses !!! Will be looking at about £500-600 for 3 days !! If it wasn't for the kids loving the show and treating it as their summer hols (we holiday over winter - suits the farm) then we wouldn't ruddy go !!
