Having decided last minute to go to our first show with the new pony I thought I'd get my entries in but fell asleep so missed pre entry. I now have to pay £21 to enter my local NPS show for 1 in hand class.
How do people afford this on a regular basis?!
Does anyone think much could be done like BS/BD 1st prize has to be atleast £1 more than the entry fee? And if sufficient entry fees prize money down to 3rd, considering there's currently no prize money in place at all affiliated shows.
Would be interested in other people's views on this, I am aware BD/BS is different to showing but still there shows are at big centres with surfaces, a lot of these summer shows are in a big field.

If I miss pre entry I tend not to enter as I too cannot justify this type of money for 1 class. If we are getting a baby out inhand we tend to go to one of the local riding clubs instead. I have just entered a couple of qualifiers and the difference in cost is definitely a shock to the system!!
We don't do showing for the prize money but as others have said on recent threads, I do like the local agricultural shows which usually have reasonable entry fees and some prize money to go towards the diesel.

We always try to pre enter due to the shear cost of entering on the day
I think 1st place prize money should always equal the pre entry fee, I think its worng that you don't even get the chance to win your entry fee back at some shows
