Can anybody inspire me with tips on the best techniques for false plaits, is it better to buy/make the "buns" and stitch them in or do people tend to plait hair onto the remaining strands and then sew up as usual?
(Pony has rubbed a patch of her mane and has very thin strands left)

I think it depends on the amount of hair you have to play with. I have tried various methods but the most successful start with a plaiting band around what hair you do have, then either plait in some spare hair and then stitch in as usual, or use the the base to sew a whole new false plait. both work and worth a play!
