Please could someone make me feel better? I have a new lad who is a native coloured(WPBR) He has the most fantastic mane and tail. i was advised yesterday to take the volume from the bottom of his tail and taper as a welshie ( but not as high) I spent last night wide awake worrying and wishing i hadnt done it as peoples opinions differ and im not sure it is politically correct for a "Native" to have a shaped tail?? Lets just say he was coated in Megatek before breakfast in the hopes it will grow back...fast? Kind Regards from a Confused.com!!!xx

do you have any pics? I'm sure it's not as bad as it seems, as long as you haven't 'attacked' the top it wouldn't be too bad, but i'm not an expert on coloured natives, if it did need the weight taking out of the bottom then tapering it is a lot better than just cutting it.

You will never know how much i appreciate that fayeandash, no pics at mo, sorry! Am new to this native thing as had a non-native coloured before who i sadly lost 2 months ago, he was always trimmed and preened and i knew what i was doing with him! Thanks for the positive spin, you are right i didnt attack the top!!x

i agree natives look better with a tapered end to the tail and then neat at the top i think it looks neater and makes their back ends look better without the heavy tail x

I agree. I aways used a "rake" to shorten my section A's tail. Looked totally natural, and got rid of the yellow ends that wouldnt wash out.
I am sure yours if fine.
