Hi, just wondered if anyone could give me some advice on the correct bit for a working cob class. Is it similar to working hunter where any bit can be used, or is it like the ridden show cob class where a pelham/double bridle should be used? Thank you!

Same rules as working hunter , ie any bit , but you need to consider the whole look and cob heads often look better in plenty of leather work ! For a cob that goes really nicely in a snaffle I use a jointed rugby pelham with short shanks , which is really mild but means I can use a slip head and two reins ( curb rein loose !) which flatters her head more . I have seen others competing in everything from simple snaffles to gags with double reins .
