Hi Looking forward to Cheshire Show tomorrow but someone has said that lorries will be towed on? Has anyone any up to date info please? If they are towing on, I presume that we will have to leave extra early

Facebook page says ground good to soft but drying out by the hour and dry windy conditions forecast for tomorrow. Doesn't mention towing.

Someone has posted a photo on facebook of muddy conditions near the cattle rings but it's a large showground and no-one has made mention of the ground by the horse rings.
The muddy area in the photo will have been damaged by getting tradestands, fencing, marquees etc onto site which will hopefully have come from the main road rather than the back gates that the horseboxes use. *
There was rain this morning but it's been a sunny, dry afternoon and the land is usually very well maintained throughout the year and prepared for the show so it's got the best chance of drying out possible.
* Disclaimer - these are only my thoughts and hopes so I can't be held responsible if everyone drowns under a sea of mud and water tomorrow!

I have seen some pics of people be towed on on Facebook. Things are moving and its dry at the moment so fingers crossed it will get better.
If anyone has some spare time today I would love to know how many are entered in the novice M nM ridden classes and M n M lead rein class please x

I've been told by friends there that classes were started an hour later because of towing. Hopefully it'll be dry enough for us to drive on tomorrow. Fingers crossed

Far horsebox park drying out but deep mud. They were using 2 tractors to tow big wagons on and off. We parked in first field long walk but no problem getting parked and getting off.
From the north on M6 no real problems only at junctions with traffic coming on. Did queue on local roads leading to showground but kept moving. Well organised when we arrived at about 9.30 kept us moving with traffic lights and plenty of stewards.
I can't comment on M6 from south.
Good luck to everyone competing tomorrow

Ground was drying out very well when we left at 4 ish. Some lorries being towed off. I believe the parking for the WHP ring was quite wet and towing was necessary. The going in ring 3 and ring seven was good. As usual lots of queuing to get onto the showground but the officials were good at their job and kept the traffic moving. As usual a well organised show and some bargains from the trade stands

As I left (last ring to finish) - everyone was driving off & the ridden rings were all being or had been rolled
Today (Wednesday) the ridden rings started at 9am (half hour late) to accommodate queues due to towing - not sure about the InHand section rings (appreciate there are also some ridden classes in these)

Going tomorrow but , for the first time EVER , purely to spectate . Feels a bit weird not to be taking a pony but then you read about mud/blow outs/queues/late starts and suddenly things don't look quite so bad !Will be able to have a good old rummage through the trade stands without worrying about a pony on the wagon. And I'm really looking forward to watching the M+M classes from a different perspective and rooting for my mate ' Flo-Rida ' ( she'll know what that means ! ) who is also now watching the class from a different angle ! See you tomorrow guys .

The ground for the coloured classes (ring 7?) was absolutely fine. We were towed onto the parking at lunchtime as had to go onto a soft section for a lorry coming out. Towed on within 10 minutes. The lorry park we were in was certainly not a mud bath and had a good grass covering aside from the initial gateway. Purposely parked facing away from the hedge to allow towing out if needed but got off fine.
As always, well organised with officials who know their job.
