Taken from Derbyshire County Show facebook page Derbyshire County Show Sunday 26th June 2016 Cancelled It is with sadness and regret that the Derbyshire Agricultural & Horticultural Society announces the cancellation of the 137th Derbyshire County Show. This decision has been made due to the current ground conditions and the weather forecast for the coming days. At the moment conditions across the showground are poor and the public car parks are waterlogged. The Society Council feels it would not be safe or responsible to hold the Show given the amount of traffic that staging the event generates before, during and after the event The Society realise this will have implications for members of the public who have purchased pre-show tickets and it is our intention that these tickets be saved and will remain valid for the 2017 Show, or they can be returned to the Secretary for a refund of the face value. The Society will be contacting exhibitors at the Show during the next few days with more specific information to them. This cancellation has deep implications for the future of the Society and once we have had a chance to settle the accounts after this, more information will follow but we would ask that for now everyone reading this will pass on the fact that we have had to cancel the Show and wish us well for the future. Edward Hicklin, chairman DAHS www.facebook.com/TheDerbyshireCountyShow/?fref=tsSo sorry for all of the people involved.........

Thank You Claire for helping me with sad announcement one i never imagined i would ever have to do Here is my post from FB This Morning Just will say bear with us while we start to deal with the aftermath of the weekends cancellations we will be starting the mammoth task of sorting refunds/ credit notes, final details of which will be discussed, but some generous people have donated their fees which is appreciate, but there will be a option of a credit for 2017 show or a refund so bear with us while we go through 600 entry forms, continue to spread the word, particularly those that are out in the sticks or don't use social media, please don't try ringing us today as I will just tell you the same. If you have day tickets for bsha I suggest you contact them to ask if as a gesture of good will, they may transfer it, we cannot re schedule as it's not just a horse show so help us to look forward to 2017 very similar schedule and most of the judges have us in their 2017 diaries..... Please we ask for your patience this is out of our hands and appreciate you spreading the word and while I'm sure many of you are disappointed ? you don't need to tell me I'm truly heart broken, please bear that in mind when posting your comments and views, we all work tirelessly and are not salaried, with most work done voluntary, so let's try and keep momentum, and at least some glimmer for 2017. Thank you
