As a show Stable Manager, this 'habit' of selling on stables without recourse to the Show's Stable team is irritating beyond belief.
Just imagine - as Stable Manager, you/your assistants are ready prepared, at the show, awaiting all the booked competitors. Stables allocated. 'Jo Bloggs' has stables booked in the name of Jo Bloggs.
'Sally Smith' turns up and says she "bought them off" Jo Bloggs. As the Stable Manager team, we have no trace of this . . . . What if she didn't/ hadn't and Jo Bloggs rightly arrives to use his stables and we had taken her at her word.
Plus, the original purchaser of said stables signs a contract, albeit a small one. the next person has not. . . . In this day of H&S and litigation. . .
Also plus, most sensible Stable Managers place horses according to their sex ie: try hard not to put someone's colt/stallion next to someone else's' mare.
If aforementioned 'Jo Bloggs' had booked to bring geldings and 'Sally Smith' turns up with randy colts . . .

Actually no I hadn't. As a first timer I had no idea. Now. I do. But only put this on as seen producers etc asking for them. Thank you for your frank and full explanation.
