Online entries are now open for POYS. (First few already received yeah!)
Remember that your qualification card entitles you to enter ANY/ALL classes which you are eligible for.
****We have new classes this year - In Hand Ex Racehorse (to go with the ridden class already held NB the judge does NOT ride in this class) & Miniature Horse classes
****Ridden Novice M&M Lead Rein & First Ridden plus a Working Show Horse class, so come on all you Cobs, Coloureds & Ex Racers who like to jump! The judge will not ride these exhibits & of course the class does not denovice any animals under other society rules, so why not have a go?

If you've won a golden ticket but aren't a member of NCPA do you need to become a member in order to compete??
Bit confused cos 1st rule reads all exhibits must be paid up members of ncpa but then there are some classes which say open to non registered ponies??? Maybe it's just because I've had a long day but I'm not following it!! Thanks

Philippa you need to be an NCPA member to enter any class at POYS, except the open classes which I think are open to non members x

The actual GT class is FOC but you must enter the same animal in at least one POYS class (which requires NCPA membership). There are some "open" classes which anyone can enter (even non members) BTO, equitation etc. Hope this explains it better.

Family membership Philippa. You can ring (01704 834482) or email re pony registration ( gensec@thencpa.co.uk ) I would need pony's name & age to check, but you do not have to register the animal (registration is for life ie not annual) unless you want to do the NCPA registered classes. Will be away from office until Wednesday afternoon so no answer before then.

Stabling was never onsite anyway? when I rantg they said that they wern't doing any stables on site? There was an issue with the temporary stabling - due to the contractors (it also affected another WF event) & the yard had only limited stabling available I believe but the other stabling was at the yard across the track & this is now full & so Warren Farm have very kindly agreed terms with Aintree to avoid anyone being disappointed. The previous post was copied by myself directly from an email sent by Warren Farm. If you have any further queries regarding this or any other matters please don't hesitate to contact the office 01704 834482 email gensec@thencpa.co.uk

Just wondering what the chairmanship and presidents and golden tickets classes are,do you have to qualify for them thanks heatherbee Yes you do have to qualify for them Qualification for these competitions is at NCPA run shows only (not shows like Cheshire County etc) For the President's Cup the qualification goes to the Supreme In Hand & Res Supreme In Hand at the Branch's Main show For most branches this is their summer event, but for the branches that do not hold at least 3 shows then it will be from their Spring shows, plus the Spring Spectacular Likewise the Chairman's Cup is for the equivalent Ridden animals The Golden Tickets are awarded to every Champion & Reserve Champion in any section at all the NCPA shows. The qualification cards for these competitions are different from the standard cards & give all the details about the competitions on the card. Membership is required for all 3 competitions & they are FOC to enter the finals (but animal must have been entered in at least one POYS Class) New this year at POYS itself, are section championships & these Champs & Res will also be awarded Golden Tickets, so that they may go on to compete in the GT on the day, if they have not already qualified. Hope this helps

Another update on the entries:
The following classes still have no entries -
In Hand: Welsh B 4+, Welsh C, Welsh D Y/stock, Min Shet Y/stock, New Forest, Foreign Breeds, Miniatures 4+, Hunters, Arab Y/stock & PBA 4+
Ridden: Mini Cob, Hunter, Lge Hack, Competition Horse, 148 SP, 153 SHP, 133 Open WHP & Open Dart/Ex/Shet Ridden
In Hand entries are low across the board - even the Golden Ticket FOC classes that have £1000 prize money!!!
Ridden entries are fairly low in the "plaited" classes with several only having a couple in & also in all the M&M small breeds classes (Nov, Jun, Open & 122 WHP)
Don't forget that if you have registered your animal with NCPA you can also do the NCPA Registered classes.
Also don't forget that this year there is a final chance to qualify for the Golden Ticket Finals on the day - prize money £500, £300, £100, £50, £25 & £25 (1st - 6th) for EACH final (Ridden & In Hand)

Hi as there are only 6 entered in all of the youngstock large breed classes, will you making it into just the one class at all? There is only us in our class and as its 2 hours travelling it doesnt seem worth it to compete against ourselves, which is a great shame, thanks

No we wont as it impacts on other entries & the timetable, although as stated the numbers are not final & have actually altered a bit in these classes (but not much!)
