Can anyone help my horse looks muscley in neck and shoulders but his back end is lacking. We hack up hills and I've started strapping but anyone know anything else or how much strapping / hill work I need to do Thanks

Definitely keep up the hill work!! Pessoa work up and down hills at a slow pace is fabulous for their quarters. Increase Pessoa hill work sessions gradually as time goes on and as they get fitter. Lots and lots of transitions! As for riding keep your sessions short, sweet but incredibly useful by really making them engage from the hind at all times (if it's possible have someone you trust on the ground to keep you right!)
Asides from hill work I would also include some risen pole work sessions in trot strides. You can use as many poles as you like but what I did was start with three poles - the first pole was left on the ground, the second was risen, and the last was also left on the ground. As time went on, and as my horse gradually got fitter, I increased the amount of poles and their height (they were only ever risen with average sized old car tires on either sides of them, nothing bigger))
And never give in!! Keep a good training routine and I promise results do show!
