I realise I am being rather "blonde" but can anybody shed some light ?? The Wilkie is known as the "showing bit" but I have been told by my local show that it is not allowed in the LR and FR classes ?? Can I use it ?? and in a totally different vein is it dressage legal ?? thanks claire x

Some local shows don't allow them and they're generally not allowed in equitation classes...

we try not to use these at the shows as quite a few judges dont like them, and rather than have the judge say that she wont judge you as its not a snaffle,i would rather just use them at home.

I dont find them that effective anyway? My ponies are schooled at home in PeeWee bit, or waterford snaffle. Then at the show they have myler bits with copper in-lay or nuele schule loose ring, which are ultra kind. Sometimes less is more, in the less experienced hands.
