Does anyone know when they become fertile as mines currently out with a filly? She is miles bigger that him but if he has the urge I don't think height matters

Yes they can be fertile as yearlings, I always separate weaned foals into their respective sexes in the winter before the sap rises for that year, so to speak.

yes definatly our neighbour had foals last year from leaving a yrling colt out with the mares /fillies etc
and although alot smaller they seem to manage
