**FOR SALE AFTER HOYS**
TOP CLASS 153CM SHP/NOVICE WHP
GLENCAUGH DRAIOCHT
5 YEAR OLD GREY GELDING
Colin has proved himself to be one of the top novice show hunter ponies to come out this season. In very few outings he qualified RIHS and HOYS at his first attempts, being champion at Kent County. 6th at Royal International. At BSPS summer champs he was placed in every class he did. He won the Young SHP and was reserve. 2nd in the novice to the pony that went on to be Supreme SHP of the show. 4th open, 6th champion of champions. In classes with all the top established ponies in them.
He has excellent conformation, a lovely front and movement. Always scores very highly for his conformation mark. Always give a mannerly show and doesn’t ever look like a 5 year old.
As well as being a top class SHP we bought Colin as a potential 15h working hunter pony, and he has done really well in novice workers, having championships as a plaited and an m&m. However he is not ready to jump the open tracks yet, and needs another season of novice and as I’m out of 14hands at the end of the season, I need something that’s going to jump the open tracks next year.
He is also proving to be a very good event pony, winning his first one and 6th in his second with an unfortunate pole down. Never looks at anything out cross country and always gets in the time with a good dressage score. So has got the potential as an event pony too. (I would have loved to keep him to event next year!)
Therefore he can be sold purely as a SHP but if anyone want’s to do more, Colin can do it all. He is also a pure bred Connemara so has that as an added bonus too.
Colin is the kindest and loveliest pony you could wish to meet with a heart of gold and just wants to please you. Everyone loves him and he turns heads wherever he goes. He is easy to do in every way: travelling, in the stable, trimming, shoeing etc. Perfect to hack out, and happily canters along on the buckle and doesn’t flinch at any traffic, and we huge artic lorries flying round our roads! Even though he has never hunted, I bet he would love it, he did go on a hound exercise at Christmas time and was very sensible and stood when he had to.
Although he is very easy and genuine he is still only a baby, so isn’t going to be a complete novice ride, he needs a competent jockey to continue his success and take him to the top.
It’s been a very tough decision for us to part with him but he needs to make room for a 153cm WHP
