I'm over the moon that a surprise nomination has resulted in my being shortlisted in the Amateur Rider of the Year category in the Horse and Hound awards, the only showing rider represented!! We are totally home produced and this year was our first season side saddle - we learnt together! - and we qualified RIHS 2016, RIHS 2017 and HOYS on our first attempts! We have also qualified HOYS as a middleweight.
I would be delighted if any of you good folk might vote for me, Cerys Ford.....  THANK YOU!!

It's been a slog in the hunter ranks but we broke through in the opens this season - he was second at Hickstead Derby in the HOYS qual and gave me that bucket list ride in a championship in the main ring!
We started out side saddle this year, hampered by four broken ribs from a ski accident, learning together and of 8 outings had three wins and two seconds, qualifying RIHS 2016 / 2017 and HOYS. I just love the boy so much - he never stops giving 😊
So for all those out there in horse classes, us home produced amateurs can do it!

Well done and you can certainly count on my vote. I think it is great that H&H have an amateur award I think Showing World should have one too for their awards.

Maxanspaddy..... Hunter weights and side saddle??? You can and I'm sure you will. It really is do-able, promise
As my dad said - two eyes and ears for a reason watch and listen, talk less! Then go home and train.... Mmmm that was for rugby but it kinda makes sense lol
