Sorry if this has already been asked! We are currently in the process of starting up our own livery yard and are looking at having DIY & Assisted/Part Liveries. We have 15'x 14' stables, an outdoor school *floodlit, each stable will have 2 large paddocks allocated to it, a large tack room which would be shared, 150 acres of off road hacking & woodlands to ride in. We also sell hay on site. How much do you all pay, and what do you get for your money? We would like to do a price list so everything is clear to all liveries ie; turn out, bring in, feed etc. Any advise is more than welcome

DIY only I pay 25quid a week in summer for 24/7 turnout and use of Floodlit arena. Winter is 35 a week for daily turnout and haylage included for pony stables.
I also have a a storage stable for feed and shavings etc, a locked tack room and trailer parking. There is cctv on the yard as well.

You need to take your area into account as prices vary substantially around the country. Might be worth stating which area you are in to get a more realistic idea on charges.

Agree with Kirky area will be important anywhere in the South East is probably double! There is a field opposite where we keep our ponies which is rented out for dog walking at about £900 per month!!!!! You would be very lucky to get DIY livery around our way for less that £50 a week. The joys of the South!

We've just moved our pony to a livery yard in the run upto HOYS for use of there facilites, we are paying £60 for assisted DIY, we still have to buy all hard feed and hay. Pony has rug changed, turn out bring in and stable done, so we just turn up and ride

If I was you I wouldn't 'allocate' two specific paddocks I would just tell people where your paddock however we have strict grazing management and you will be required to rotate. As some people will arrive with a fat pony or laminitic and you won't be allocating two paddocks to it as you'll be topping and all sorts as it will never get eaten.
If it's a nice yard you could charge around £200 a month for assisted. DIY here is £76 a week including hay, feed, wormers, 1 bag of bedding a week and your horse is fed and Hayed with the whole yard. You do the rest.
Another yard was £60 a week for the stable, fed one end of the day and either brought in or turned out plus straw and hay. That works well as only have to come up once a day.
Most DIY round here (dorset) is £130-£145 a month just rent

I am in the north and have 2 ponies. I pay £100 a month per pony for DIY on a small yard ( 10 horses ). This includes stable and my own field to fence and rotate grazing a I please. We also have a good sized arena and are in the process of having a horse walker built. Grazing in winter is limited. Have to buy all my own hay, feed and bedding. The yard owner will happily bring in a few times a week if required at no extra cost.

I'm in the north west... £45 per week assisted DIY including haylage. This includes stable and grazing (turnout is every other day in winter), floodlit school, horse walker, jumping paddock and cross country course. They put feeds in morning, lunchtime and evening if required. Any other jobs will be done for a small charge. I often get mine turned out and brought in, and an occasional skip out so my bill is usually around £65 a week. We have to pay for feed and bedding on top.
