Anyone any opiniosn on the comparisons between the two lots of products, particularly the oils 1&2 from Shapleys as opposed to the Supreme Spray oil and also Sparkle as opposed to Shapleys High Gloss spray. Thinking of using the No 2 Oil but worried about a reaction from it, so any advice from people who have used it - good or bad - would be very helpful. Thank you

Hello I have used the Shapleys for treatment of sweet itch v successfully and for mane and tail growth. I have used supreme for show ring shine very successfully. Not sure if that is v helpful!

my findings for what its worth
Shapleys light oil = better than Supreme hot oil for after bathing
Shapleys light oil = very similar results to Supreme Glistening Oil
Shapleys light oil = not as good as Supreme Sparkle for finishing touches
Hope that helps

Aww, thank you so much catkin and Toaster, I had someone doing quite a hard sell at a show on Sunday with the Shapleys stuff, I have always been very happy with my Supreme products, but she made me feel like I was missing out and my pony wasn't going to look as good as everyone elses, if I wasn't using the Shapleys stuff, so it gave me a major wobble. I considered buying some for a moment, but she was so pushy and OTT, that she actually put me off and I walked away to go think about it first. Then my gut feeling was that it was probably not a good idea to change what I currently use, with HOYS just around the corner, in case anything caused a reaction. I do have some of the Supreme Hot Oil, but when I read the back of it, it mentioned allergic reactions as a possibility, so I chickened out and it is still unopened in my show kit bag. I couldn't see what was so special about it, against say pig oil or baby oil - any reasons why its so special please?

I love Supreme Hot Oil! It's great for when they're clipped in the winter and its too cold to bath, you put a few squirts in some hot water and hot cloth them and it lifts the dirt out of their coat.
I've used it this summer as well when they've been reasonably clean and I haven't had time to bath. I'm sure it's not meant to used in the same way as pig oil or baby oil.

Hi never used the hot oil as we never clip - although we have clipped two this year so perhaps we should get some quickly!! I got some of the Shapleys white spray stuff at Equifest and it is brilliant, so definately converted to that - careful that you don't spray in and smoke though as highly flammable apparantly!!

WE USE THE SUPREME PRODUCTS AND WE LOVE THEM ALL, HOWEVER, SHAPLEYS HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED BUT I'M NOT SURE ABOUT CHANGING ANYTHING.
THANKS FOR THE USEFUL COMMENTS TOASTER, IF THE LIGHT OIL IS BETTER THAN THE SUPREME HOT OIL MAYBE ITS WORTH GIVING IT A TRY AS WE WILL BE CLIPPING SOON - HOW WELL DOES IT WORK GOING OVER THE FULL COAT WHEN SHOWING?
WE ALSO USE THE HOT OIL FOR HOT CLOTHING IN THE SUMMER AND IT GIVES A GOOD FINISH. MUCH BETTER THAN BABY OIL AND PIG OIL, IT DOESN'T SEEM TO PICK UP THE DUST AND THE OTHER 2 PRODUCTS DO.
SPARKLE I WOULDN'T CHANGE IT'S BRILLIANT.
BABY OIL AND PIG OIL HAVE THEIR PLACE IN THE TACK ROOM AND IF WE WAS A TAIL BECAUSE IT LOOKS GRUBBY WE ALSO RUN BABY OIL THROUGH WHILST THE TAILS IS DAMP. GIVES A BIT OF SHINE AND ACTS AS A MOISTURISER AS WELL. PIG OIL WE USE AS A BARRIER FOR LEGS AND BELLY IN THE WINTER MONTHS. REALLY DOES HELP IN THE PREVENTION OF MUD RASH ON THE LEGS.

I continue to use supreme sparkle as IMO is the best for a high shine under lights . I used the shapleys heavy oil late this summer and again it was a nice finish and didnt seem to attract the dust like other oils/ coat glosses. Apparently the heavy oil is best used after clipping and washing to condition the coat. Will feedback some more after weekend as going to coat our pony in it and rug up as directed by an employee of shapleys.

Hi , its good to put on and rub into the coat then rug . I noticed that dust and arena surface doesnt seem to stick to it as much as pig oil. I still used my sparkle from supreme though!!
