This may sound like a silly question but is the HOYS/RI fence height for intermediates 1m 25 and the horses 1m 20? (this is the impression I got after reading the BSPS and HOYS rule book, as 'championship' BSPS height for inter. is 10cm bigger than 1.15 at Open) If so, am I alone in thinking that this is a little bit silly? Especially as the intermediates at HOYS jump in the infinitely more buzzy and spooky Caldene (now TopSpec) ring, which is also a lot smaller than the main ring, so surely the fences for the 15.2hh's should be no bigger than the fences for horses that are potentially *huge* (as well as having older, perhaps more experienced riders)? I would be very grateful for someone to be able to shed some light onto this, as it makes jumping intermediates rather off-putting as a dream for next year

At qualifiers Open intermediates is max height 1.15m
Open horses is 1.14m both at HOYS have an additional 10cm
The grand prix at shbgb champs is 4ft which is roughly 1.20m
