I'm considering changing from a 7.5t with average living to a trailer. How do people find the equitrek show trekka and star trekka...does the extra length make a huge difference? How do people rate.. For space? To manoeuvre? To tow? What vehicle do you tow with.Thank you for any comments.

You'll find with the equi treks people either love them or hate them. I had an equi trek show trekka, wish I hadn't sold it as it was fab. Really easy to tow, such a smooth ride for the horses. I towed with a rexton and hardly knew it was on the back. There were some issues with axles think it's 2007 models but I could be wrong, the living is so handy too.

If you're buying one second hand no matter how new they are make sure you get a pro (unless you are!) to check its soundness.
I know a couple of people who love them, but I also know several people including my mechanic, who won't touch them with a barge pole. Their build quality can be very variable and they do have a tendency to be flimsy. Last time I was at the mechanic he had 4 in all needing new walls / ramp issues and he hates them. Just have a very good inspection as there must be good ones out there too.

An expert I am not. Stupid question but who would you get to check them?

I also have been told by several people that the build quality leaves a lot to be desired!!

I had an equi trek show trekka M and loved it. You do need a heavy 4x4 though as even the show trekka m (which is the smallest with a living) weighs 1250kgs unladen, so add horse/water/tack and it's quite a heavy load to tow. Whilst lots of 4x4's can legally tow the weight, not many are heavy enough to stay heavier than the loaded trailer.....so many horse people seem blasé to that though....
