There's a rather nice tweed on the Mrs Candy website that I would certainly take a look at for a chestnut. Its the Gillian.
I have no connection to Mrs Candy but I have been looking at jackets for my grandson!

There are some lovely tweeds out there. I've just had a new jacket made by Showing Classics, I sent them a picture of my horse as he's a very bright bay and they then sent me some free swatches to hold against him and choose which one I liked. Wonderful service too! X

Definitely a dark brown based tweed for a chestnut.....we have one too and asked the same question 2 years ago. Our tweed is from Le Beau Cheval and is dark brown with a a blue over check. Pretty ponies have also added the same tweed for 2017
