We have small breeds, my daughter is 18yrs this year ( March ), so shes not a junior nor and adult when it comes to membership to WHAT is she? Under Bsps membership She cant ride in the Juniors and not old enough to be an adult ( So I have to be a member ) she has to be 19 as of the 1st of Jan to become and adult member? Really think this needs to be looked at? thank you

Hi when your daughter is 18 she can be an adult member of TSR and go in Junior classes. Its £24 for her and pony or still only £24 if you are the adult and she is the junior.
I am going to double check any hoys rules but I think thats correct. She can then do HOYS JUNIOR Q.

Thank you but because she rides small breeds its only up to the Age of 14 for smalls. Also we have to be a member of BSPS for open RIHS. Thanks

that does seem to be double standards, write to the BSPS and point out the unfairness of it, see if you can get other people who are, have been or will be in the same situation. Bring it up at the next AGM; and if you cannot get there write and ask the question. Write seperately to the members of the committee. THe BSPS will soon change the rules if it means that they will have a reduction of membership and fees.

Surely you just don't do the juniors then?? I understand where you are coming from but if you want to do RI then you just have to suck it up. TSR is a cheaper option for HOYS as has been pointed out. Unfortunately rules are rules and if you want something addressed then contact the society directly in writing. It then has to be brought up at the committee meeting and addressed.

She could ride in Junior large breed classes this year as the age is not to have attained 18th birthday by 1st January. Class ages/memberships are taken as on 1st January in the year, otherwise it would be a nightmare to administer. This year for BSPS will be no different from previous years (if you have been a member) but in 2018 your daughter will be an adult member.

This is what I am saying, she not a junior or and adult? I know she cant ride in the junior class as also we have a stallion, My grip is, that she is she cant be classed as a junior nor and adult member. We can only do the Opens as she has a stallion.

For the purposes of membership she is a junior for 2017 & if you had a suitable animal she could also compete in junior M&M classes in 2017. This happens even if she rode plaited animals eg intermediates or 153cms SHPs
