Please can anyone advise me regarding any current Hunter and Competition Horse Showing Judges as to their preferences of type, size and colour of horse? Competing is so expensive and time consuming when doing our horses properly that I do not want to waste everyone's time going before a judge that does not like palominos.

No-one responded to your request because you haven't said what your horses are like, conformationally. Read up on conformation of the type of horse you are going to show to see if it is true to type. Initially get out to shows near you to save on travel costs. The horse will also need to be mannerly, well turned out and give a polished performance in the open classes and don't forget the judge will ride your horse. Make sure you have at least 5" stirrup irons as judges come in a range of sizes and the leathers need to go longer or shorter to suit the judge. Maybe put a few extra holes in the leathers for the shorter judges. Your own turnout needs to be spot on (well, as spot on as you can get it). Go to the SHB(GB) and BSHA web sites and you will get plenty of good pointers. Good luck and don't get too hung up on what the judges like or don't like or you won't enjoy the day out showing.

Please remember that your horse needs to be plaited.
I think the trouble is with Palominos is that the society concentrates on colour rather than conformation and movement, hence not all have good limbs etc. People therefore think when showing in other classes that people are against them. If your horse is well put together, the type for the class , goes and moves well then the colour makes no difference.
good luck and have fun
