I work at a yard where all the horses that are kept in are all stabled on straw. I haven't really had much to do with straw as my horse and past horses have been stabled on shavings, I've noticed that if i go into the stables at work my nose goes wierd almost like i cannot breathe. Is it the mould spore's that are in the straw am i alergic to it? Jx

think it's probably the horse wee, shavings soak it up more and so it's less smelly, is the smell like an amonia - like when people dye their hair, smell? If it is then it's more likely to be the wee, and this also makes my nose go funny, like you can't take a deep breath.

You could be allergic to it or it is just extremely dusty straw.
I would defiently wear a dust mask as it will prevent the dust entering your lungs and causing too many problems with your breathing!
